John Herbert has practiced employment, labor relations, discrimination, immigration, medical products liability, contracts, and general law and litigation since 1974. For seven years, he was an officer and business operations executive with Pitney Bowes Inc, where he worked for thirteen years.
Prior to Pitney Bowes, Mr. Herbert spent eleven years as a labor relations, EEO officer, and attorney with Johnson & Johnson and a total of five years managing plant labor relations for Ford Motor Company and Allied Chemical. After a number of sales and acquisitions, Allied is now Honeywell.
Following approximately four years with Epstein Becker and Green, Mr. Herbert joined Pfizer in 1997, where he worked his way up to Senior Counsel and later Vice President Corporate HR policy and strategy.
Mr. Herbert is a graduate of Howard University and Seton Hall University School of Law. He has also studied at NYU Law School, Wharton, and Harvard. He has taught at Rutgers University as an adjunct instructor and currently teaches in an adjunct capacity at Cornell University, while practicing employment, labor relations, discrimination, and some general law and litigation. He is also a court certified mediator and has been involved with a number of mediation and arbitration matters across the country and abroad.
Mr. Herbert is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and Federal Courts and has represented clients on attorney teams in California, Michigan, Ohio, Arkansas, Florida, Texas, Connecticut, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Georgia, Colorado, Missouri, and other parts of the USA. He has also handled labor relations matters and litigation with local counsel in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.
