Charles
P. Magyera received his undergraduate degree,
cum laude, from the University of St. Thomas and his
law degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin.
He entered the private practice of law in Milwaukee
in 1971. Mr. Magyera regularly provides services to
management in all aspects of labor and employment law
with an emphasis on collective bargaining negotiations
and defense of employment discrimination claims. He
services health care clients primarily in the areas
of formation and operation of independent practice associations,
physician/hospital organizations, provider and payor
contracting, corporate organization and negotiation
of major hospital construction contracts. Mr. Magyera's
corporate law experience includes the negotiation and
drafting of asset purchase agreements, stock purchase
agreements, resolution of shareholder disputes, commercial
litigation, representation of construction industry
businesses and corporate formation and partnerships.
He has spoken to numerous groups on labor and health
law topics including the State Bar of Wisconsin, the
Milwaukee Bar Association and the National Human Resources
Association. He has authored a number of articles on
labor and health topics for local and national publications.
During law school, he was on the Board of Editors for
the Wisconsin Law Review and was elected to the Order
of the Coif. He is a member of the Milwaukee Bar Association,
the State Bar of Wisconsin and the American Health Lawyers
Association. Mr. Magyera's civic activities include
volunteer teaching for Junior Achievement and athletic
