Ned is a 1989 graduate of Vermont Law
School, where he received a J.D. and a Masters of
Studies of Environmental Law. He has practiced environmental
law for 18 years, emphasizing compliance counseling,
site remediation, water, wetland and stormwater regulation,
and land use. Ned regularly advises clients regarding
environmental due diligence and liability allocation
in real estate and corporate transactions; defense
of government and private party lead enforcement actions
and enforcement of environmental contractual rights
against third parties; development and redevelopment
of environmentally sensitive and contaminated properties,
including Brownfields; indoor air quality; and siting
and permitting of complex projects and utilities.
He is a past co-chair of the Environmental Law Section
of the Milwaukee Bar Association; past Village Trustee
and current member of the Board of Zoning Appeals
for the Village of Bayside, Wisconsin; and a past
member of the Board of Directors for the Schlitz Audubon
Nature Center, Bayside, Wisconsin. Ned is a current
member of the Vermont Law School Dean’s Leadership
Circle. He frequently speaks on environmental regulation
topics at professional seminars and classes throughout
the country. Ned has authored or co-authored more
than twenty-five articles on environmental topics.
Prior to joining the firm, he was a partner with
Foley & Lardner LLP’s environmental law
practice in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Ned has an AV Peer
Review rating and is listed in “The Best Lawyers
in America,” (2006, 2007) which reflects peer
review surveys by attorneys across the country of
