Chris J. Trebatoski received a B.A., with honors, in Broadcast Journalism, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1981 and a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1984. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, District of Colorado, District of Nevada, United States Courts of Appeal for the Sixth and Seventh Circuits and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Trebatoski has extensive trial experience having been lead counsel in more than fifty trials including three jury trials in the last year. Mr. Trebatoski also has extensive appellate practice experience including six oral arguments in the Wisconsin Supreme Court successfully arguing the most significant decision issued by the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 2001 (as identified by the Wisconsin Lawyer Magazine) and 2003 landmark decision finding Wisconsin’s 108 year old concealed weapons law unconstitutional. He has extensive experience in complex commercial litigation arising from mergers and acquisitions, medical products and prescription drug, commercial contracts, antitrust and trade regulation, and securities matters. He has practical experience as he served as outside general counsel for one of the largest sports membership organizations in the United States for more than ten years. His practice has also included trial and appellate work in the areas private membership organizations, not-for-profit organizations, employment, ERISA, product liability, professional negligence (legal, medical, accounting and engineering), health care licensing, real estate and riparian rights.
