Jesús José Villa received an A.B. in Sociology,
magna cum laude, from Princeton University and a M.A. in public policy
studies from Duke University. Mr. Villa received his J.D. from Duke University
where he was a Crawford-Robertson Scholar. His practice is focused on
labor and employment relations law, including law affecting municipalities
and institutions of higher education. Mr. Villa has defended clients
against state and federal discrimination claims before administrative
agencies and the federal courts. He has represented clients before the
National Labor Relations Board on representation issues and unfair labor
practices. Mr. Villa has also defended clients against claims of labor
standards violations, employee leave law violations, and entitlement
to unemployment benefits. Mr. Villa has spoken at numerous seminars and
has trained clients on a wide variety of legal issues, including workplace
harassment, dealing with employee disabilities, I-9 compliance, civil
rights laws, employee rights in non-union settings, Wisconsin’s
Open Meetings and Public Records laws, and conducting effective workplace
investigations. He is proficient in Spanish. His professional memberships include the State Bar of Wisconsin,
the Wisconsin Hispanic Lawyers Association and the National Association
of College and
University Attorneys. Additionally, he is President, Board of Directors,
Benedict Center; Member, Board of Directors, Phantom Lake YMCA; Member,
Waukesha County Chamber of Commerce HR Council; Member, Personnel Committee,
