Gregory P. Gadson received a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a J.D. from Howard University, where he received the American Jurisprudence Award in Contracts. Prior to private practice, Mr. Gadson spent fourteen years as a senior corporate in-house attorney in multi-national, technology driven corporations. He has eliminated or reduced liability exposure for entities accused of intellectual property (IP) infringement on numerous occasions by performing competent infringement and validity analysis, as well as by effective negotiation. Mr. Gadson has provided extensive IP counseling and strategic planning relative to patents and trademarks, including application preparation and prosecution. He has counseled clients regarding patent matters in such diverse technology areas as electrical and consumer electronics, telecommunications, computers and computer software, Internet and e-commerce, mechanical and electro-mechanical, medical devices, and aerospace and transportation. Mr. Gadson has provided Infringement/Non-Infringement advice and formal opinions, and Validity/Invalidity advice and formal opinions. He has counseled businesses and investors regarding strategic planning with respect to IP, and has performed IP due diligence for prospective corporate mergers and acquisitions. He has also participated in negotiation and licensing activities involving IP. Other areas include copyright law and formal IP appraisals. He currently counsels clients ranging from early-stage companies to investors to Fortune 500 companies.
