Biography

Gregory B. Gilmore’s primary areas of practice include complex commercial litigation, ERISA litigation, and employment and labor law, representing management exclusively. His practice also includes representation of a variety of companies in the defense of product liability, general liability, professional liability and automobile negligence claims. In his practice, Mr. Gilmore has handled significant first chair responsibilities as a senior attorney for cases involving all of the above practice areas in the state and federal courts of New York and New Jersey.

Mr. Gilmore’s experience includes obtaining summary judgment on behalf of a construction company client in the defense of a product liability wrongful death claim. In a potential seven- figure damages case, he secured the dismissal of negligent entrustment and hiring claims against an international overnight delivery company, which resulted in preclusion of the defendant driver’s driving history, including prior motor vehicle violations and the company’s safety and training manuals and videos. The preclusion of these materials led to a favorable settlement. Mr. Gilmore recently also obtained a finding of no probable cause from the State of New Jersey Division on Civil Rights in the defense of an electronics company in a claim alleging violations of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination.

Mr. Gilmore is active in the Defense Research Institute (DRI), where he is a member of the Diversity, Employment Law, and Life, Health and Disability/ERISA Committees. He is also a member of the New Jersey Defense Association, the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Active in community affairs, Mr. Gilmore currently serves as the Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Fair Housing Council of Northern New Jersey.

Mr. Gilmore received his B.S. from Montclair State University and his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law, where he earned the Black Law Students Association Outstanding Academic Achievement Award. He is admitted to practice in the states of New Jersey and New York; the U.S. District Courts for the District of New Jersey, and for the Eastern, Northern and Southern Districts of New York.
