Biography
Judith L. Melideo-Preble concentrates her practice in real estate law, representing lenders, purchasers, and sellers in all aspects of residential and commercial real estate. She represents lenders with mortgage foreclosures and REO, foreclosed property ownership and sales, and provides title review and advice to lenders owning foreclosed property. Ms. Melideo-Preble reviews title abstracts, provides resolution of title issues, including rendering opinions, issuing commitments and title insurance for residential and commercial transactions. She is also a title agent for First American Title Insurance Company and Stewart Title Guaranty Company.
Ms. Melideo-Preble handles residential and commercial real estate closings for lenders, including purchases, refinances, and reverse mortgages; represents clients in condominium conversions and advises clients purchasing new condominium conversion properties; regularly advises lender clients as issues arise concerning the impact of various legislative and judicial matters affecting the residential real estate closing industry.
She advises individuals and businesses in entity organization and transactional matters, including acquisition and sales of businesses and drafting of shareholder, LLC, and partnership agreements. Ms. Melideo-Preble’s practice also includes estate planning for individuals to achieve tax and non-tax estate planning goals.
Ms. Melideo-Preble earned her B.A. in Political Science from Regis College, cum laude, her J.D. from Suffolk Law School, and her LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University. She is a member of the Real Estate Bar Association of Massachusetts, and she has been active on the Board of Directors, including service as Past President, of the John M. Barry Boys and Girls Club of Newton. She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, U.S. Tax Court, U.S. Court of Appeals First Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
