Julie M. Cloney

Biography

Julie M. Cloney has been practicing law since 1995 and has a wide range of experience both pursuing and defending first and third party insurance claims. Ms. Cloney’s primary areas of practice include defending ERISA, life, and health benefits and insurance coverage claims, bad faith litigation. She is also experienced in general business, commercial, and construction litigation, as well as consumer credit issues, land use, and legal malpractice.

Ms. Cloney has been certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Civil Mediator since 2006. She received the Brevard County Legal Aid Distinguished Pro Bono Service Award in 2010. Ms. Cloney is a member of the Brevard County Bar Association, Brevard County Women Lawyers Association, and the Brevard County Bar Foundation.

Ms. Cloney earned her J.D., magna cum laude, at the University of Miami School of Law, where she was Editor of the University of Miami Law Review; an MSW at Barry University, and her B.A., cum laude, at Harvard University. She is admitted to practice in Florida and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida.
