Biography

Kenneth M. Jones is an experienced trial attorney, having tried numerous jury trials and arbitrations. He has significant experience in defending a variety of matters, including labor and employment, police misconduct and civil rights, business disputes, insurance law, and product liability.

In the private sector, Mr. Jones represents Fortune 500 companies and medium-sized businesses in various litigation matters. Mr. Jones defends major employment matters, including claims for wrongful termination, discrimination (race, age, and disability), retaliation, and harassment. He has also defended claims for violation of wage and hour standards, and violation of the California Business and Professions Code. Mr. Jones has prosecuted and defended business litigation cases regarding trade secrets, unfair competition, breach of contact, and fraud. He has represented major automobile manufacturers in products liability and breach of warranty cases and has a published appellate decision clarifying the meaning of California law in this area. He also has represented insurers by providing coverage advice and defending insurance bad faith actions.

Mr. Jones also represents public entities, defending major employment cases for employment discrimination and civil rights in state and federal courts. He has conducted employment investigations on behalf of public entities. Mr. Jones has also represented various public entities in tort litigation for premises liability, assault and battery, and various other personal injury matters.

He received his B.A. from Oberlin College in Ohio with a double major in Psychology and Sociology. Mr. Jones received his J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and participated in the Scott Moot Court Honors Competition.

Mr. Jones is admitted to the California State Bar and the U.S. District Court for all districts in California. He is member of the California State Bar Labor & Employment Committee and a former member of the State Bar Litigation Committee. He is also a member of the National, Los Angeles County, and the John M. Langston Bar Associations; the California Minority Counsel Program; and the African American Insurance Professionals Association. Mr. Jones has lectured on several areas of law and trial tactics.
