Marcella S. Spoto litigates many types of cases, such as product liability, medical malpractice, wrongful death, automobile, premises liability, property damage, environmental, toxic tort, and class actions. She has represented clients ranging from automotive, insurance, and chemical companies to public entities. Her experience includes state and federal jury trials, including in the Seventh Circuit.
Ms. Spoto has extensive and diverse experience in civil litigation and has defended toxic tort claims, including claims related to lead paint, mass property damage, chemical hazards, pesticides/herbicides, and ground contamination. She handled a recent case involving environmental litigation, defending a large equipment manufacturer that involved a Federal EPA investigation, and CERCLA claims.
Ms. Spoto has wide-ranging experience in commercial litigation, including business disputes involving contractual matters, fraud, construction, collections, tortuous interference with contracts, professional liability, and appellate practice. She has also provided defense of food product liability claims against food growers.
Ms. Spoto received a B.B.A., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where she majored in Business and French and minored in German and Economics. She earned her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin. Ms. Spoto is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and DRI. She is fluent in French and Italian and conversant in German and Spanish.
