Linda V. Meagher is a trial lawyer who has represented clients in courtrooms throughout the State of Wisconsin. She is experienced in representing both the plaintiffs and defense sides of a case, which gives her a unique experience that allows her to critically analyze and approach a case. Ms. Meagher is also well versed in appellate practice and has argued before both the Wisconsin Supreme Court and the Seventh Circuit Federal Court of Appeals.
Ms. Meagher’s practice includes a wide range of cases, including personal injury cases involving automobile accidents, premise and general liability, wrongful death, and products liability. Moreover, she has defended professional malpractice cases involving physicians, hospitals, nurses, medical clinics, chiropractors, dentists, podiatrists, lawyers, architects, accountants, and others. Additionally, she has experience handling business and commercial litigation cases and insurance coverage disputes.
She is AV® Preeminent Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and was included in M Magazine’s list of Leading Lawyers from 2012-2015. Ms. Meagher has been selected for inclusion on the Wisconsin Super Lawyers® list (2011-2014) and named to the Top 25 Women Wisconsin Super Lawyers list in 2011, 2013, and 2014. She is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society consisting of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Ms. Meagher was also honored as a Wisconsin Law Journal recipient of the 2011 Women in the Law award.
Active in professional, charitable, and civic organizations, Ms. Meagher is a member of the Wisconsin, Waukesha County, Milwaukee, and American Bar Associations. She is the Vice President of the Pauline Haas Library Board in Sussex, WI and is also active with the Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast, as booster President for the Hamilton Sussex High School Band, and as a volunteer for Wisconsin Election Protection. Ms. Meagher is a State Bar of Wisconsin high school mock trial coach and judge, national moot court competition regional judge, and makes law come to life by presenting mock trial programs to elementary and middle school students.
Ms. Meagher earned her J.D. from Marquette University Law School in 1988, where she was on the Law Review and a Eugene B. King Scholar. She earned her B.A., in Political Science and Economics, at the University of Wisconsin. She is admitted to practice in all Wisconsin State Courts, U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, U.S. District Court of Central Illinois, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. She has been admitted pro hac vice in many cases in other states throughout the U.S. at the request of clients.
