Shelly A. Ranus received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a J.D. from Marquette University Law School where she was a member of the Marquette Law Review. Ms. Ranus is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, as well as in a number of federal district courts and courts of appeal. She is a member of the Wisconsin and Pennsylvania State Bar Associations, the Milwaukee Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Ms. Ranus has practiced labor and employment law, exclusively representing corporate clients, for the past 15 years. She has extensive experience in employment discrimination and labor relations litigation, including federal court jury trials, federal and state appellate practice and administrative agency proceedings. Her background includes client-specific policy development, such as sexual harassment policies, equal opportunity policies, affirmative action plans, as well as employee handbooks. Ms. Ranus has also handled numerous employment and labor matters, in both union and non-union workforces, such as reductions in force, discipline and discharge, wage and hour issues, drug testing, unemployment compensation and worker's compensation. Her experience in the area of labor and employment extends to conducting seminars for various organizations, including the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Outreach Programs, and executives, managers, supervisors and employees on topics such as diversity, sexual harassment, discipline and discharge and governmental audits. Ms. Ranus is involved with several local community organizations and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Association for the Rights of Citizens with Handicaps (ARCH). Ms. Ranus is a partner of the firm.
