Vincent Vigil has vast experience in corporate representation in the areas of commercial and tort litigation; and insurance defense, including personal injury, automobile liability, professional liability, and premises liability. He provides counsel in the areas of medical malpractice, real estate litigation, construction litigation, and products liability. He has also counseled corporate clients with respect to contract matters and litigated corporate and partnership disputes.
Mr. Vigil’s background includes representation of Fortune 500 Corporations, financial institutions, technology firms, construction and development companies, and entrepreneurs. His experience includes the representation of banks with commercial real estate litigation matters, as well as foreclosure actions. He has represented several clients in copyright infringement claims asserted by the Business Software Alliance and the Software & Information Industry Association, as well as provided counseling in patent prosecution litigation.
He has provided legal representation in the areas of construction litigation, professional liability, and other negligence claims. As former in-house counsel to a real estate development company, Mr. Vigil handled matters arising from construction work that was either untimely and/or not performed in accordance with building plans, and/or other issues, such as applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
He has represented clients in all phases of litigation, with extensive experience in motion practice, taking of depositions, and has tried cases to verdict. He has also been involved in declaratory judgment actions dealing with coverage issues and has handled cases in various fora, including the courts, the American Arbitration Association, and other alternate dispute resolution forums, such as ADR Systems of America.
Mr. Vigil received a B.S. from the University of Colorado School of Engineering and earned his J.D. from Loyola University Law School in Chicago, Illinois. He is admitted to practice law in the States of Illinois and Iowa and is a member of the Trial Bar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Central, and Southern Districts of Illinois. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and is fluent in Spanish.
