Dinita James authored an article for the August 2015 edition of the Arizona Employment Law Letter entitled “Ruling Doesn’t Clear Haze for Arizona Employers“. When voters approved the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act in 2010, they bestowed on registered medical marijuana users employment protections that do not exist in most states. The article discusses a recent Colorado Supreme Court ruling on whether Colorado employers can enforce zero-tolerance policies on illegal drug use and how it has little application in Arizona.
