On July 11, 2013, Emory Potter will be addressing the Atlanta Bar Association Family Law Section meeting and presenting on issues facing practitioners in cases involving businesses owned by parties to a divorce action. The discussion will focus on guaranties and indemnity agreements that are outstanding and how to address them, as well as using settlement agreements as security agreements under Article 9 of the UCC to protect an ex-spouses interest in the business and streamline remedies through replevin and filing of UCC-1 notices.
