Virginia State University (VSU) hired Robert Clayton to investigate the November 15, 2013 fight that led to the cancellation of the CIAA championship football game and VSU being banned from postseason play. Attorney Clayton found there was no evidence to suggest that any VSU players or coaches tried to gain a competitive advantage by inuring Winston Salem’s quarterback Rudy Johnson.
