Emery K. Harlan appointed by Governor Thompson to the Governor's Advisory Council on Judicial Selection.

| Emery K. Harlan has recently been appointed to the Governor's Advisory
Council on Judicial Selection by Governor Thompson. The appointment makes Harlan the first
African American to serve on the Council. Harlan, 33, is a shareholder at the Milwaukee-based law firm of Gonzalez, Saggio & Harlan, L.L.P. His area of legal expertise is management-side equal opportunity and employment law. As a member of the Governor's Council, Harlan will help make recommendations for state-wide judicial appointments at the request of Governor Thompson. His term on the Council is indefinite. Other members of the Council include: William Bunk, William Curran of Curran, Hollenbeck & Orton, S.C., Judith Hartig of Hartig Bjelajac, Michelson & Mondragon, Judge Leah Lampone, Thomas Mallery of Mallery & Zimmerman, S.C., George Steil of Brennan, Steil, Basting & MacDougall, S.C., Jonathan Swain of Lindner & Marsack, S.C., and Raymond Taffora of Michael, Best & Friedrich. |
