Biography

Aaron J. Graf focuses his practice in labor and employment law, regularly representing employers before state administrative agencies and federal and state courts on issues, including discrimination, wage and hour, unemployment compensation, workers’ compensation, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, hiring and firing issues, and various other employment related issues. He is also certified as a Professional in Human Resources through the Human Resources Certification Institute and advises employers on proactive measures to avoid future liability in addition to defending such client’s when claims arise.

Outside of his primary practice in labor and employment, Mr. Graf has previously represented school districts in labor and employment matters, collective bargaining, and grievance and interest arbitration and has also represented clients in matters ranging from appellate work to professional liability to insurance litigation.

Mr. Graf is a frequent speaker and author in topics involving employment law. He most recently presented “Labor & Employment Law Update: What’s New - What’s Trending” and “Always Changing: Updates on the Open Meeting/Public Records Law,” at the Wisconsin County Mutual Insurance Corporation’s 18th Annual Corporation Counsel/Defense Counsel Forum (September 24, 2010). He also authored “The Plaintiff Has Died, Who Must Be Notified?” published in the Wisconsin Civil Trial Journal, Summer 2010.

Mr. Graf earned his J.D. at Marquette University Law School and his B.S. at Concordia University. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Labor & Employment Law Section), State Bar of Wisconsin (Labor & Employment Law Section), and the Society of Human Resource Managers. Mr. Graf is licensed to practice in Wisconsin and the U.S. District Court in the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin.
