Biography
Herbert S. Bratt has extensive experience in real estate transactions, including real estate sales, purchases and development, and tax deferred exchanges. He drafts, negotiates, and structures complex contracts for commercial office buildings and major residential developments. Additionally, he drafts and negotiates commercial lease terms for landlords and tenants. Mr. Bratt is AV Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell, and he was selected as a “2013 Wisconsin Top Rated Lawyer” in Real Estate and General Practice based on his rating.
Mr. Bratt has served on three occasions as a Special Master for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. He was a Court Commissioner for the Circuit Court of Milwaukee County and was a member of the panel of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustees for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. He also serves on the commercial panel of the AAA, as well as the arbitration panels of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) NFA.
Mr. Bratt received a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a J.D. from Yale Law School. His professional memberships include the American Bar Association, American Judicature Society, State Bar of Wisconsin, New York Bar Association, and the Milwaukee Bar Association. Mr. Bratt is admitted to practice in Wisconsin, New York, U. S. District Court Eastern District of Wisconsin, U.S. Court of Appeals Seventh Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
