Biography
Michael A. Garfield is an experienced commercial and information technology transactions attorney who worked in-house for six years under the Fidelity umbrella at Fidelity National Financial (FNF) and Fidelity National Information Services (FIS). At FIS, Mr. Garfield was responsible for drafting, negotiating and managing a variety of contracts, including complex outsourcing information technology services agreements for the financial services and payments industries regarding banking and payments technology services as well as SOWs, data processing agreements, IT software agreements, other consulting/professional services agreements, insurance operations agreements, banking services agreements and software-as-a-service (SaaS) agreements with regional banks, credit unions and other financial institutions.
He was also responsible for large M&A due diligence projects requiring review of all vendor, confidentiality, settlement, privacy and other contracts to prepare summaries of key terms for FIS’s corporate M&A team. Mr. Garfield has experience representing clients as both in-house counsel and outside counsel, and works to meet the unique legal needs of each of his clients.
Mr. Garfield received his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law, Phi Delta Phi, and a B.S. in Advertising from the University of Florida, Phi Kappa Phi. He is admitted to practice in Florida.
