Joseph M. Fasi II, Equity Partner, is board certified in Civil Trial Law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Fasi has been lead counsel in over 85 jury trials in Florida, Wisconsin, and Federal Courts with numerous defense verdicts. Mr. Fasi’s practice includes product liability, medical product liability and pharmaceutical defense, defense of nursing homes and assisted living facilities, food contamination issues, transportation law, professional malpractice, and medical malpractice defense.
Mr. Fasi is a frequent lecturer and author on legal issues and trial techniques. He is an active member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC) where he served as Chair of the Drug, Device, and Biotechnology Section (2009-2012). Mr. Fasi is active in DRI, where he is the Past Board Member Liaison to the Drug and Medical Device Committee (2008-present), was elected to the Board of Directors (2001-2004), and served as Chair of the Medical Liability and Health Care Committee (1999-2001). He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, Florida Bar, and Dade County Bar Association and a former member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance.
Mr. Fasi is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society consisting of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. He was named to the 2015 and 2016 Best Lawyers in America list in the area of Insurance Litigation. Mr. Fasi has been selected for inclusion on the 2015 Florida Super Lawyers® list and the Wisconsin Super Lawyers® list from 2005-2014. He enjoys an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell and was selected as a “2013 Wisconsin Top Rated Lawyer” in Litigation and General Practice law based on his rating. Mr. Fasi was also named a 2013 Leader in the Law by the Wisconsin Law Journal.
Mr. Fasi is a member of the Board of Directors of Peacemakers Project Miami, which is dedicated to changing the lives of children in need throughout greater Miami. He was elected as a Class of 2013 Fellow of the Wisconsin Law Foundation, an honorary program recognizing members of the profession who are known by their peers for high achievements in their profession and outstanding contributions for the advancement and improvement of the administration of justice in the State of Wisconsin. He was recognized by the Wisconsin Access to Justice Commission and the State Bar of Wisconsin Pro Bono Program as a member of the 2013 Wisconsin Pro Bono Honor Society.
Mr. Fasi received a B.A. from Marquette University and an M.A., with honors, from Seattle University. He received a J.D. from Stetson University, where he was the Notes and Comments Editor for the Stetson Law Review and a member of the National Mock Trial Team. He is admitted to practice in Florida, Wisconsin, United States Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, U.S. District Court Middle District of Florida, U.S. District Court Southern District of Florida, U.S. District Court Northern District of Illinois, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin and U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin.
