Biography

Julie T. Bittner earned her J.D. from the Saint Louis University School of Law, where she was Editor of the Saint Louis University Law Journal. She received her B.A. in Political Science, cum laude, from the University of San Diego. Ms. Bittner joined Gonzalez Saggio & Harlan’s Litigation and Employment Groups after working as a litigation associate in an Omaha, Nebraska business litigation firm.

Ms. Bittner has employment experience in the defense of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination claims brought at the administrative level, as well as in state and federal court. Ms. Bittner has assisted in the defense of litigation at the appellate level. Ms. Bittner also counsels clients on employment policies and procedures. She provides training for management and employees on workplace diversity and other employment law related issues.

During law school, Ms. Bittner worked directly with the General Counsel for Emerson, a global manufacturing and technology company. Prior to attending law school, she worked as Assistant to the Director of Operations-Corporate Controller at a real estate and investment firm in San Diego.

Ms. Bittner was selected for inclusion in the Great Plains Rising Star℠ list in 2015 by Super Lawyers®, recognition granted to fewer than 2.5% of attorneys in a state.

Ms. Bittner is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association and DRI. She is licensed to practice in Iowa, Nebraska, and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Iowa, the Southern District of Iowa, and the District of Nebraska.
