Biography

Lynn Urkov Thorpe counsels employers on a variety of employment matters, such as discipline, termination, and harassment investigations. She also represents employers in employment discrimination and other employment based claims before federal, state, and local administrative agencies, in state and federal courts and courts of appeal, as well as in alternative dispute resolution settings.

Ms. Thorpe’s practice also encompasses defending suits seeking disability benefits under ERISA. She has won numerous employment and ERISA cases on summary judgment. Her appellate work has likewise resulted in many favorable decisions.

Ms. Thorpe received her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law and a B.A. from Washington University (St. Louis). She was an associate at a large law firm early in her career and further developed her expertise at an employment law boutique. Ms. Thorpe is a member of the Chicago Bar and Illinois Bar Associations. She is licensed to practice in Illinois, the U.S. District Court of the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois, and before the Sixth and Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
