Biography

Rebecca Raizman is a member of the firm’s Employment group. Her practice areas include employment litigation and employer counseling. Ms. Raizman has experience litigating cases in federal and California state court and has served as the primary associate on several complex employment matters. She has successfully represented clients in administrative proceedings before the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE) and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

Ms. Raizman also has significant experience revising employee handbooks and providing ongoing advice and counsel to employers on a variety of topics involving California and federal employment laws. Ms. Raizman also has experience in business litigation. In early 2014 she second-chaired an eight-day bench trial with Equity Partner Don Hernandez in San Francisco Superior Court involving a partnership dispute, securing a verdict in the client’s favor on all claims. In her pro bono work, Ms. Raizman provides employment law advice and counsel to a local non-profit organization.

Ms. Raizman received her J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 2010. Prior to joining the firm in 2013, Ms. Raizman was a staff attorney at Public Counsel in Los Angeles and previously worked as an Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps Legal Fellow with Public Counsel’s Homelessness Prevention Law Project. While at USC Law, she participated in the Mediation Clinic, Hale Moot Court Honors Program, Public Interest Law Foundation, and Student Bar Association, and received USC Law’s Shattuck Award for significant contributions to the law school that represented high potential for outstanding service to the legal profession. Prior to law school Ms. Raizman worked as a litigation paralegal with the Federal Trade Commission in Washington, DC. Ms. Raizman received a B.A. in Government from Cornell University in 2005.

Ms. Raizman is a member of the California State Bar, Labor and Employment Section; Los Angeles County Bar Association, Barristers Section and Labor and Employment Law Section; Pasadena Bar Association; and the USC Law Alumni Association Board. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for My Friend’s Place, a non-profit organization inspiring and serving homeless youth in Los Angeles. Ms. Raizman is admitted to practice in California and is conversational in Spanish.

In her free time, Ms. Raizman is an active yoga practitioner.
