Biography
Roxann Sherri Smithers’ practice includes construction, collections, and general commercial litigation; class actions and complex litigation; premise liability defense; medical malpractice and negligence litigation; complex product liability and mass tort litigation, including automotive and pharmaceutical; and contract review and negotiation.
Ms. Smithers has experience working on matters in multiple state and federal jurisdictions across the country. Her contract review negotiation work spans the nation and includes public and private contracts. She also has experience at managing local counsel.
Ms. Smithers earned a B.A. at Columbia University and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in Georgia; Georgia Superior Court; Georgia State Court; Georgia Court of Appeals; U.S. District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia; and U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. Ms. Smithers is a member of the Georgia Bar Association and the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys. She is active at Columbia University, where she is the President of the Columbia Club of Atlanta, an Alumni Recruitment Committee Member, and serves on the Board of Directors for Columbia University Alumni Association. Ms. Smithers is also Construction Committee Chair for Providence Missionary Baptist Church and is a contributing columnist for Equal Construction Record.
