Biography
Tracey Blackwell concentrates her practice in the area of litigation, with an emphasis in commercial, tort, construction, and general commercial liability litigation. Ms. Blackwell represents a number of Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 clients across a broad spectrum of goods and services industries, involving a variety of matters including contract disputes, general business disputes, corporate asset recovery, employment discrimination, employer’s liability, and tort and negligence. Her practice is national in scope spanning from Pennsylvania and New Jersey to California and from Michigan to Puerto Rico and the Caribbean Islands. Ms. Blackwell has successfully tried cases in state and federal court and in arbitration on matters ranging from contract and business disputes to general civil disputes and personal injury.
Ms. Blackwell began her legal career with an exclusive practice in insurance defense and of general casualty defense claims. She has continued this aspect of her practice throughout her career and now boasts an extensive background in all aspects of personal injury, bodily injury and property damage claims involving products and premises liability, automobile, and intentional torts and defamation.
Ms. Blackwell also performs commercial transactional services for the benefit of her clients with comprehensive experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts for various types of large commercial, industrial, and mission critical projects across the U.S. She routinely works on the buy and supply side of commercial transactions as well as in the public contracting arena where she also assists clients in the preparation of, and responses to invitations to public bid, requests for proposals, requests for qualifications and bid protests.
Ms. Blackwell is the co-chair of the firm’s Litigation practice group, and is the partner-in-charge of the firm’s Atlanta Office. Prior to joining Gonzalez Saggio & Harlan, Ms. Blackwell was a partner in the commercial litigation group of a national law firm.
Ms. Blackwell earned a B.A. at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and a J.D. at the University of California-Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law. She is admitted to practice in Georgia and Illinois. Ms. Blackwell is a member of the American Bar Association; the National Bar Association, Commercial Litigation Section; and the Georgia Bar Association, Litigation Section.
