Biography
Jason P. Wischmeyer provides counsel to small businesses, large corporations, and individuals to pro-actively evaluate and provide advice on legal matters. He has represented domestic and international clients in state and federal courts in government and corporate contract disputes, commercial and residential leases, mergers and acquisitions, business dissolutions, partnership and shareholder disputes, partnership and shareholder buyouts, covenants not to compete, employment agreements, vendor agreements, transportation agreements, objections to jurisdiction/venue, unemployment and wrongful termination defense and creditors’ rights matters.
Mr. Wischmeyer has defended clients in all levels of court proceedings including initial Complaint/Answer, negotiated settlements, mediations, depositions and trials. In addition to representing commercial clients as litigation has arisen, he also represents prior to litigation assisting in the preparation of contracts and agreements between parties to avoid disputes or resolve disputes before anything gets to the point of litigation.
Additionally, Mr. Wischmeyer’s litigation experience involves claims related to insurance defense, personal injury, premises liability, construction injuries, medical malpractice, and wrongful death. He has handled a number of first chair jury and bench trials. On appeal, he has successfully provided representation where summary judgment was upheld in wrongful death and lead based paint related personal injury claims.
He has worked with numerous creditors on mortgage and debt workout plans, with the majority of his experience on the debtor’s side. He is also experienced with collection and bankruptcy matters from both sides.
Mr. Wischmeyer was selected for inclusion in the 2014 Indiana Rising Star℠ list by Indiana Super Lawyers®, where recognition is granted to fewer than 2.5% of attorneys in the state. He is a member of the Indiana State, American, and Shelby County Bar Associations.
Mr. Wischmeyer earned his J.D. at the Indiana University School of Law and a B.S. in Business from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. He is admitted in the State of Indiana, the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern District of Indiana and the United States Bankruptcy Courts Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
