Neifor B. Acosta received a B.A. from the University of Florida and a J.D. from Marquette University Law School. Mr. Acosta’s practice includes litigation, corporate and transactional, real estate and e-business and technology. His practice also includes trademark prosecution and copyright registrations, as well as trademark and copyright litigation.
Mr. Acosta provides review of general contracts, including general services agreements, as well as licensing, software, and other technology related agreements. He is experienced in contract review, drafting, and negotiation of general business contracts, as well as other transactional documents for business purchases and agreements. He also provides advice on the proper securitization of collateral. Mr. Acosta provides on-site contract support for a well-known Fortune 500 manufacturing company in the Milwaukee area.
His real estate experience includes the acquisition and sale of commercial real estate properties and leasehold interests. He has reviewed, drafted and negotiated various residential and commercial lease agreements, and has assisted clients in obtaining special use occupancy permits with municipalities. Mr. Acosta has conducted due diligence reviews, including corporate assets and liability research, real estate title documents, and providing guidance and advice on real estate transactions and city licensing matters. In addition, he has litigated termination of commercial tenant leases and evictions. Mr. Acosta’s experience also extends to construction related matters, including assisting owners, developers, and contractors in various aspects of construction-related affairs.
Mr. Acosta has been named a Wisconsin Rising Star
in Milwaukee Magazine each year since 2007,
recognition granted to fewer than 2.5% of attorneys
in the state. He is admitted to practice in Wisconsin
State Courts, as well as the Eastern and Western Districts
of Wisconsin. His professional memberships include
the Wisconsin Hispanic Lawyers Association (Board
Member and 2005 President), Milwaukee Bar Association,
DRI, Thomas E. Fairchild American Inns of Court (Milwaukee
Chapter), and the Hispanic Professionals of Greater
Milwaukee (Board Member, Treasurer, and Vice President).
