The Public Finance Group of GSH has collectively over 125 years of public finance experience on a wide variety of public issuances. Its attorneys are dedicated to representing public entities in all phases of public finance. We represent issuers, underwriters, credit providers, trustees, and private beneficiaries in various types of tax-exempt and taxable financings. We serve as bond, underwriters', tax, disclosure, credit provider's, trustee's, and special counsel. Our experience includes serving as counsel in transactions involving transportation bonds, governmental bonds, qualified hospital and health facilities bonds, qualified section 501(c)(3) bonds, qualified mortgage bonds, and other activity bonds.

Representative Experience
 

  • Served as bond counsel in connection with $133,485,000 Dormitory Authority of the State of New York State Personal Income Tax Revenue Bonds (Education) Qualified School Construction Bonds.
  • Recently served as bond counsel in connection with the City of Philadelphia’s $396,460,000 Water and Wastewater Revenue Refunding Bonds.
  • Served as bond counsel in connection with $461,342,259 Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission Turnpike Subordinate Revenue Bonds and MLF-Enhanced Turnpike Subordinate Special Revenue Bonds
  • Served as co-bond counsel in connection with the State of Ohio's $375,000,000 Infrastructure Revenue Bonds.
  • Served as underwriters' counsel in connection with $185,000,000 State of Wisconsin Transportation Revenue Bonds transaction.
  • Served as co-bond counsel and co-underwriters' counsel in connection with numerous financings issued by the Chicago Transit Authority.
  • Served as underwriters' counsel in connection with the 2008 issuance of $2,276,578,271 State of Connecticut, Taxable General Obligation Bonds.
  • Currently and have previously served as co-bond counsel in connection with several City of Chicago financings, including the issuance of Motor Fuel Tax Revenue Bonds, General Obligation Bonds, and Wastewater Transmission Revenue Bonds.
  • Served as co-underwriters' counsel in connection with the recent O'Hare International Airport transaction financed through the City of Chicago, and have also been assigned to work on the conversion of some of the 2005 bonds that were credit enhanced through insurance.
  • Provided co-bond counsel services in connection with issuance of State of Illinois General Obligation Bonds, and the Chicago Board of Education Unlimited Tax General Obligation Refunding Bonds.
  • Since 2002, provide bond counsel services to the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority on numerous multi-family and single-family transactions.
  • Provide bond counsel services to the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District since 2001 regarding the issuance of General Obligation Sewerage System Bonds and General Obligation Sewerage System Promissory Notes.
