Kenneth A. Louard received an A.B. from Harvard University. He earned his joint J.D.-M.B.A. from Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School. Mr. Louard has extensive experience in general corporate and securities work, with emphasis on public offerings of debt and equity securities and public and private mergers and acquisitions. Since joining Gonzalez Saggio & Harlan, Mr. Louard has been working on traditional public finance matters, as well as conduit issues from the perspectives of bond counsel, issuer’s counsel, and underwriters’ counsel. He has represented underwriters and issuers in over $1 billion of public offerings.
During 2008 and 2009, Mr. Louard has worked with the State of Ohio (Ohio Public Facilities Commission and the Treasurer of State) and the Illinois Finance Authority on bond issues totaling more than $800,000,000.
Mr. Louard also has extensive experience providing advice and counsel regarding various strategic operational functions, as well as with contract negotiations. He has advised clients concerning contractual, banking, and other finance matters.
Mr. Louard began his career as an Associate in Dean Witter Reynolds’ Mergers & Acquisitions Department. He has held several legal and business positions throughout his career, including the Managing Partner and COO for two investment firms and was the Director, Business Operations and Chief Counsel for the Cleveland Browns. Mr. Louard has also worked at the law firms and government entity: Andrews & Kurth LLP, Kutak Rock & Campbell, Brown & Wood, and the General Counsel’s Office of the Manhattan Borough President.
