Karma S. Rodgers received a B.A. from Marquette University and a J.D. from Marquette University Law School. Ms. Rodgers has provided extensive advice and counsel regarding the following employment law matters: contract negotiation and arbitration, unemployment and wage/hour, unfair labor practice charges, employment discrimination claims, and wrongful termination suits. She has advised and assisted clients regarding a wide range of personnel matters, including personnel policy manuals, discipline and discharge decisions and formulation, and implementation of all types of employment policies.
Ms. Rodgers has conducted supervisory/management seminars on legal implications of employment issues. She has extensive trial experience in most areas of civil litigation, including employment law, personal injury, and family law. Prior to joining Gonzalez Saggio & Harlan LLP, Ms. Rodgers served as an attorney/conciliator with the State of Wisconsin Equal Rights Division and also served as General Counsel for Bridgeman Foods, Inc.
She also has extensive trial experience in most areas of civil litigation, including personal injury. She has served as lead attorney in numerous litigation matters that were brought to successful conclusion. Ms. Rodgers’ transactional practice includes drafting and negotiating commercial leases for lessors and lessees. She has extensive experience in the acquisition and sale of properties, including preparation of agreements, offers to purchase, counteroffers, negotiations, environmental considerations, tax-deferred transactions, closing preparation, and review. Ms. Rodgers has also served as co-bond counsel and borrowers counsel in various tax-exempt and taxable financings.
Prior to earning her law degree, Ms. Rodgers served in a variety of corporate managerial positions with Ameritech Services, Inc. in Arlington Heights, Illinois and Wisconsin Telephone Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Ms. Rodgers is active in the Milwaukee, State of Wisconsin, National, and American Bar Associations, serving as director on the 1995-1997 State Bar Board of Governors, and Office Management Section.
Ms. Rodgers is admitted to practice in Wisconsin, the U.S. District Court of the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, U.S. Court of Appeals Seventh Circuit, and the U.S. Tax Court.
