Gregory G. Taylor received a B.S. in Economics from Indiana University - Bloomington and a J.D. from the Indiana University School of Law - Bloomington. Mr. Taylor has extensive experience providing advice and counsel on municipal finance transactions, including having served in roles as bond, underwriters’, and issuer’s counsel.
Mr. Taylor was previously Senior Counsel with the law firm of Locke Reynolds, LLP practicing in the Government & Regulatory Services and Business Services Groups. Mr. Taylor acted as bond, underwriters, and issuers counsel on several municipal finance transactions. He also assisted small and medium size companies with advice and drafting of corporate structure documentation, assisted companies in the process of minority and/or women owned business enterprise certification, assisted companies with certification with the US Small Business Administration and certification with the Federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprise certification. He provided economic development advice to clients regarding tax incentives, grants and other corporate incentive programs for the attraction of business. Mr. Taylor was a Partner in the Business Services Group at Johnson Smith, LLP, where he was responsible for the drafting of tax exempt and taxable bond documents.
Mr. Taylor was also employed by the State of Indiana Department of Commerce in the Business Development Division, where he was responsible for the attraction of new industry to the State of Indiana and the creation of new employment opportunities for the citizens of Indiana.
Mr. Taylor is currently a member of the Indiana General Assembly as State Senator for District 33, Indianapolis, Indiana. As a State Senator, he serves on the Commerce, Public Policy and Interstate Cooperation Committee; Judiciary Committee; Corrections, Criminal and Civil Matters Committee; and the ranking minority member of the Insurance and Financial Institutions Committee. His professional memberships include the Association of Bond Lawyers, Indiana State Bar, and the Indianapolis Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in the State of Indiana.
