Edward (Ned) B. Witte
 

Edward (Ned) B. Witte, Partner and Environmental Group Chair, is a graduate of Vermont Law School, where he received a J.D., cum laude, and a Masters of Studies of Environmental Law, magna cum laude. He has practiced environmental law since 1989 , emphasizing compliance counseling; site remediation; water, wetland, and stormwater regulation; and land use. Mr. Witte regularly advises clients regarding environmental due diligence and liability allocation in real estate and corporate transactions; defense of government and private party lead enforcement actions and enforcement of environmental contractual rights against third parties; development and redevelopment of environmentally sensitive and contaminated properties, including Brownfields; indoor air quality; and siting and permitting of complex projects and utilities.

Mr. Witte is a past co-chair of the Environmental Law Section of the Milwaukee Bar Association; past Village Trustee and current member of the Board of Zoning Appeals for the Village of Bayside, Wisconsin; and a past member of the Board of Directors for the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, Bayside, Wisconsin. Mr. Witte is a current member of the Vermont Law School Dean’s Leadership Circle. He frequently speaks on environmental regulation topics at professional seminars and classes throughout the country. Mr. Witte has authored or co-authored more than twenty-five articles on environmental topics.

Prior to joining the firm, he was a partner with Foley & Lardner LLP’s environmental law practice in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mr. Witte has an AV Peer Review rating and was selected as a Wisconsin Super Lawyer in 2009 and 2010. He is listed in “The Best Lawyers in America” (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010), which reflects peer review surveys by attorneys across the country of other lawyers in their specialties.
